Overview

The NACG Certification Standard verifies that food, products, ingredients, and services are fully animal-free and cruelty-free, reflecting ethical responsibility, environmental stewardship, and transparency.

This standard permits no animal-derivatives of any kind.

Vegan-Permissible (Allowed)

Certified vegan products and services must meet all of the following:

  • Plant-based ingredients
  • No animal-derived ingredients or by-products
  • No animal testing of products or ingredients
  • No animal-derived processing aids, full ingredient and supplier disclosure

Ingredient & Supplier Verification

Applicants must provide:

  • Complete ingredient lists.
  • Supplier declarations confirming vegan compliance.
  • Confirmation of non-testing practices.
  • Where shared equipment is used, cleaning and contamination controls must be documented.

Non-Vegan (Prohibited)

Products or services are not vegan if they involve:

Meat, fish, poultry, dairy, eggs, honey, gelatin, carmine, animal fats, insect-derived ingredients/enzymes/colorings, animal testing at any stage, animal exploitation or by products.
